Growing in Prayer

Growing in Prayer – united in focus, consistent in prayer.

“Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God.” Billy Graham

“I pray because I can’t help myself. I pray because I’m helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn’t change God. It changes me.” C.S. Lewis

“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.” Mother Teresa

Prayer can take many forms: worshipping together, quiet reflection, conversation, creativity, the arts, and simple moments offered to God.

This year, instead of a monthly Saturday prayer meeting, you are warmly invited to join with others across the circuit in a variety of prayer opportunities each month, from coffee and conversation to contemplative silence.

There will also be opportunities to meet online, share photographs as prayer prompts, and take part in a spring prayer walk as we connect with God through creation.

Some months we will offer a simple prayer guide with ideas to try. Not every idea will suit everyone, and that is completely fine; use what helps you to pray.

We also plan to gather during Advent and Lent as we mark these special seasons in the life of the Church. More information will be shared at the August Circuit Service. For now, you may like to find a notebook to record your thoughts, prayers and ideas as we continue to Grow in Prayer together.

Monthly updates and details will appear on this page.
